Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Knowledge of mutual interconnection of sports medicine as a multidisciplinary field of medicine and paediatrics. The knowledge obtained in functioning of cardiovascular, respiratory and other systems in children during rest and physical load, as well as in treatment, diagnostics, dynamics, treatment methods, rehabilitation and indications to stop or decrease the physical load in case of different heart diseases, arterial hypertension, bronchial asthma, diabetes mellitus and other diseases. Knowledge about injuries of the movement support apparatus in children and adolescents, their treatment methods and physical load regimes.
Skills
1.Ability to examine, assess and prepare a treatment plan in simple cases for different paediatric patients, to reasonably select and interpret the obtained examination data and results of the functional assessment methods. Ability to assess physical development, posture and its disorders in children and adolescents.
Competences
1.Competence in solving different clinical cases and application of the obtained knowledge in sports medicine physician’s practice.

|
To improve theoretical knowledge and practical skills in patient evaluation, control and application of medical technologies, diagnostic and medical manipulations. Theoretical knowledge is acquired in 4 seminars and individual literature studies. During practical classes students monitor patients under the supervision of a physician eligible to provide such training, participate in examination and treatment of a patient by mastering patient examination, as well as diagnostic and medical manipulations. A medical resident acquires diagnostic methods applied in paediatrics, manipulations to be performed, as well as methodology of invasive and non-invasive medical technologies.

At the end of the study course the head of the residency programme evaluates the acquired theoretical knowledge in written and oral form. The written test shall be assessed according to the 10-point grading system.
