About Study Course

Objective

Provide students with integrated interdisciplinary knowledge in the Pilates method and develop training management skills for improving movement for people of different ages by applying Pilates equipment and combining their use with small exercise equipment. Enable students to acquire functional fitness and Pilates-based motion assessment tests within the competence of the trainer and, based on their results, to acquire the skills to create individually appropriate Pilates training programmes using functional Pilates equipment. Improve students’ understanding of the use of small exercise equipment as an additional tool for Pilates equipment.

Preliminary Knowledge

Knowledge: anatomy, dynamic anatomy (detailed different muscle contractive modes in motion, changes in resistance loads); skills: provide demonstration exercises, word guides, tactical correction techniques, pedagogical and psychological methods for providing positive guidance.

Students independently select three studies that study the effects of Pilates trainers or small equipment on the human body, physical characteristics and summarize the results of the studies. A detailed description of the task, a summary template, evaluation criteria and the work upload site have been placed in e-studies in the study course.

Collection of a history, conducting tests and drawing up an individual Pilates lesson plan

Students independently collect a history from another study group student, perform Pilates functional tests. Based on the information obtained, a Pilates lesson is created using Pilates trainers and small equipment. Detailed description of the task, client card template and programme template, evaluation criteria in e-studies on the study course site. During the examination, the trustees manage five exercises from the Pilates programme previously created within the framework of their own work for another student, which has been submitted in e-studies and assessed with a grade. Students answer additional questions from the lecturer as well as receive constructive feedback from the lecturer. detailed description of the assignment, evaluation criteria and upload site are placed in e-studies in the study course.
