About Study Course

Objective

To provide acquisition and upgrade of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in vascular surgery in compliance with the requirements of surgery professional regulations, in order to get medical doctor prepared for qualifying as cardiac surgeon.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Interpret US, CT, CT and MR angiography findings in vascular surgery and phlebology. Knowledge of invasive diagnostics of vascular lesions. Knowledge of transluminal revascularization options, stenting and stent-prosthesis implantation, embolization, caval filter implantation. Indications, counterindications, complications. Knowledge of possible late complications, diagnosis and treatment thereof in vascular surgery.

Skills

1.To examine a patient with vascular lesions (both trauma and disease), to make a correct choice between transluminal revascularization and conventional surgery in the course of threament. To choose treatment modality in patients with occlusive diseases of arteries and aorta. To administer appropriate conservative treatment to a patient with arterial, venous and lymphatic system diseases. Interpret findings in laboratory data, imaging data, etc.

1.To provide primary and professional emergency aid to patients with vascular trauma, thrombosis and embolism.
