About Study Course

Objective

The aim of the study course is to provide an understanding of various environmental components, factors, their importance and impact on an individual's health, the importance of hygiene in disease prevention and health promotion.

Preliminary Knowledge

Prerequisites in biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology are required

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Upon completion of the study course the student: • will be able to name and describe environmental factors that are harmful to human health in certain environmental conditions; • will be able to name the measures to be taken to reduce the impact of workplace risk factors.

Skills

1.Upon completion of the study course the student will be able to: • identify harmful environmental factors and assess their degree of risk; • Recommend risk control measures.

Competences

1.Upon completion of the study course the student will be able to • use the acquired knowledge on environmental health and hygiene issues in their professional activities; • to put forward proposals, plan and take measures to improve the environmental conditions and to eliminate or reduce the shortcomings of the work environment organization; • will be able to provide a healthy environment for both employees and customers.
