About Study Course

Objective

Provide students with knowledge of ageing processes and their effects on oral health, develop skills to recognise and assess the specific needs of elderly patients, and develop professional attitudes and competences to ensure quality dental hygiene care for seniors, promoting their quality of life and health

Preliminary Knowledge

Periodiodontology, public health and prevention, therapeutic stomatology (cariology, endodontics), patient communication, general and oral pathology, emergency medical care, dental prosthesis, dental surgery.

An examination and evaluation of the oral cavity of elderly patients shall be carried out, identifying the most common problems.

Plan and carry out individually tailored dental hygiene procedures taking into account the health status and functional capabilities of seniors. Provide educational information to patients and their loved ones on oral health maintenance, prevention measures and proper prosthetic care.

The test includes multiple-choice questions about topics learned in lectures and classes. The test is passed if 55% of correct answers are provided, which are converted into balls in accordance with RSU Regulations.
