About Study Course

Objective

Basic concepts of management of acute cardiology conditions (diseases). To teach residents up-to-date diagnostic techniques in transluminal interventions in cardiology (PCI, use of stem cells, embolization, stenting), as well as congenital heart disease treatment.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Within the course of studies the resident gets the knowledge in modern percutaneous transcatheter cardiology procedures, myocardial revascularization and heart valve surgery, as well as in diagnosis, management and treatment of acute cardiology syndromes.

Skills

1.To set indications for PCI procedures and conventional cardiac surgery. To master the skill of managing acute heart failure, acute coronary syndrome.

Competences

1.After finishing the study course the resident should feel confident in managing acute cardiology syndromes, in choosing appropriate diagnostic techniuqes and treatment options in compliance with European guidelines in this field.
