About Study Course

Objective

Provide students with knowledge of the anesthesia phases and types, risks of anaesthesia, about intensive care in frequently occurring situations, the medication adjustment capabilities, enteral and parenteral feeding for intensive care patients.

Preliminary Knowledge

Basics of human anatomy, physiology and pathology, medical biochemistry, pharmacology and first aid.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.On successful course completion students will have gained knowledge that will allow: • Understand anesthesia and intensive care methods; • Understand the shock pathogenesis, clinic and treatment; • Know the acid-base balance and blood gas evaluation methods, interpret the data.

Skills

1.Student will be able to: • Interpret the intensive care patient data results to determine the necessary treatment adjustments based on the results obtained; • Prepare enteral and parenteral feeding plan for an intensive care patient.

Competences

1.• In collaboration with health professionals student will identify the individual treatment of intensive care patient; • Evaluate medical treatment advantages and disadvantages, by linking the patient's examination data; • Monitor the drug therapy, evaluate the results and prepare the necessary information for other medical professionals.
