About Study Course

Objective

To provide an opportunity to learn the process of establishing and managing a sports organization, its legal regulation.

Preliminary Knowledge

Completion of study courses: Theory of Management, Fundamentals of Law, Fundamentals of Business, Sports Management, Business Management, Sports and Fitness Marketing.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Will know: 1. System of state and non-state sports organizations in Latvia. 2. Legal acts that determine the establishment and operation of sports organizations. 3. Management process of sports organizations. 4. Forms of legal responsibility in sports. 5. Sports-related contractual rights.

Skills

1.Will be able to: 1. Determine the goals and tasks of the sports organization. 2. Create the structure of the management system of the sports organization. 3. To evaluate the work of the sports organization. 4. Determine strategic goals and perform SWOT analysis.

Competences

1.1. Analyze and evaluate the activity of the sports organization, identify problems and solve them. 2. To determine the legal aspects of the establishment and operation of sports organizations of different legal status. 3. Identify and analyze the legal issues and problems related to the management of a sports organization.

Practical work - 3 points 3 points – fully understood the purpose of the work, fully realized the work tasks and demonstrated relevant skills/abilities 2 points – the work is partially completed, various shortcomings, inaccurate interpretation of the work task 1 point – the work was performed formally, there was no understanding of the work to be performed. Seminar – 3 points 3 points – participates in a discussion, demonstrates knowledge, knows how to argue a personal opinion, is able to perform critical self-analysis 2 points – participates in the discussion, demonstrates knowledge and mpersonal opinion; 1 point – participates in the discussion, demonstrates knowledge of the seminar issue. Test – 10 points 10 points – correct answers to all questions 8 points – correctly answered 2/3 of all questions 5 points – half of the questions are answered correctly. Written exam of the study course - 20 points 20 points – all questions are given correct, well-explained answers 15 points – all questions are answered correctly 10 points – half of the questions are answered correctly. Individual development dynamics - 2 points 2 points – systematically rising 1 point – episodic.
