About Study Course
Objective
To train rheumatology residents to recognize and understand dermatological manifestations associated with rheumatic diseases, their role and significance in disease etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and clinical course. The cycle aims to provide knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and treatment principles of dermatological and venereal diseases that help reduce or prevent exacerbations and complications of rheumatic conditions.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Upon completion of the dermatology cycle, the resident: understands the structure, function, and main pathological processes of the skin and subcutaneous tissue; knows the characteristic dermatological manifestations of rheumatic diseases (e.g., systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, systemic sclerosis, vasculitis, psoriatic arthritis, etc.); understands the diagnostic and prognostic value of skin symptoms in assessing disease activity; is familiar with the indications and applications of skin biopsy and other dermatological diagnostic methods; knows the basic principles of dermatological and topical therapies relevant to patients with rheumatic diseases.
Skills
1.The resident is able to: clinically identify and describe skin changes associated with rheumatic diseases; determine when dermatological consultation or skin biopsy is required; interpret dermatological findings and laboratory results in the context of rheumatologic conditions; integrate dermatological observations into the diagnostic, differential diagnostic, and therapeutic decision-making process; apply fundamental treatment principles for managing skin and mucosal lesions in patients with rheumatic diseases.
Competences
1.The resident: can independently assess dermatological manifestations in patients with rheumatic diseases and determine their clinical significance; collaborates effectively with dermatologists and other specialists in multidisciplinary patient management; recognizes the prognostic importance of cutaneous symptoms and their influence on treatment planning; applies acquired knowledge to ensure timely diagnosis, monitoring, and optimal management of rheumatic diseases with dermatologic involvement.
