Knowledge
1.As a result of mastering the course students will be able to tell about the main quality indicators of reproductive health and obstetric assistance, tell about periods of woman’s life and formulate main care needs in these periods, know how to collect reproductive anamnesis, can characterise physiological changes during pregnancy, can describe physiological labour and postpartum period.
Skills
1.As a result of completing the study course, students will be able to collect gynaecological anamnesis, to perform vaginal examination and take a pap smear. Will be able to practically state and explain examination results to a pregnant woman during antenatal care in case of physiological pregnancy, will know how to identify risk factors to prevent pathological course of pregnancy. Will know how to demonstrate physiological labour and evaluate the postpartum period. Will be able to demonstrate basic principles of breastfeeding.
Competences
1.Students will be able to explain patients the need for screening diagnosis, identify pregnancy risk factors, perform antenatal care – prescribe necessary examinations, ensure optimal postpartum care.
Assessment
Individual work
To get acquainted with recommended sources of literature for each class; preparation of reports in accordance with course topics (individual work and team work). In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.
Examination
Examination: 1) examination of practical knowledge – OSKE at the end of the study course. In the final assessment, the proportion of the result is 100% of the total assessment. In the final assessment, the proportion of the assessment of the practical exam is 100% of the total assessment.

Women’s sexual and reproductive health, statistical indicators. Periods of woman’s life, peculiarities of care.

Family planning and contraception. Physiology of the menstrual cycle.

Gynecological history. Vaginal examination. Taking a cytological smear.

Organised screening for breast cancer, cervical and colorectal cancer. Breast self-exam.

CM Regulation on pregnancy care. Factors affecting pregnancy and foetal development – infections, medicines, nicotine. Pregnant women at risk.

Physiological changes during pregnancy.

Antenatal care (assessment of the foetal intrauterine position – US).

Antenatal care (gravidogram, f/ut measurements).

Childbirth, birth process, outcomes. (Induction of labor, compilations in labor)

Physiologic labour.

Cardiotochography. Partogram, birth tract trauma.

Care during childbirth, birth positions, newborn. (Biomechanism of childbirth in case of occipital prolapse).

Physiological postpartum period.

Simplification of the new-born’s adaptation period and post-natal care.

Breastfeeding tactics.
