About Study Course
Objective
To use knowledge, skills, attitudes and values, the objectives, tasks in the field of Health and Physical Activity of the physical exercises, health promoting exercises and safety promoting exercises included in pre-school guidelines evaluating them in a targeted, critical manner and adapting to the requirements of the specific environment. Application of didactic principles of alternative pedagogies by promoting individual approaches and the implementation of transversal skills in sports and health classes.
Preliminary Knowledge
The student understands the regularities and learning characteristics of the development of preschool children. Is able to plan and organise the pedagogical process by selecting learning methods appropriate to the child’s age and individual needs. Is familiar with the basic principles of organising health-promoting physical activity, movement play and safety, and is able to reflect on his or her pedagogical activities and cooperate with a professional team.

Job description: The student shall develop a thought card reflecting the interconnectedness of the child’s movement development, brain activity and learning processes based on scientific literature and the content acquired in the study course. Fulfillment conditions: individual work. The thought card shall be designed in digital or printed format and presented briefly at the seminar (up to 5 minutes). Evaluation criteria: relevance of content to theme; quality of theoretical justification; structure of information; visual presentation; reasoned presentation. |

2.
Development of a child’s physical activity programme |

Job description: The student chooses one stage of the child’s development (infant, 1-3 years, 4-5 years or 6 years) and develops a physical activity programme appropriate to the child. The programme shall be based on child development law, pre-school education guidelines and health promotion principles. Fulfillment conditions: individual work. Develop a physical activity programme for one week, including at least 10 exercises, specifying the purpose, organisation, load, safety requirements and theoretical justification of each exercise. Evaluation criteria: Relevance of the programme to the child’s age and stage of development; methodological and theoretical justification; diversity of exercise; compliance with safety requirements; work design. |

3.
Case analysis of physical and motor development of a child |

Job description: The student shall select one child of preschool age, perform an observation of the physical development and movement skills of the child, interview with the parents of the child and prepare the individual characterisation of the child. On the basis of the information obtained, the child’s needs shall be evaluated and the physical activity programme shall be improved or adapted. Fulfillment conditions: individual work. Conduct a child observation, interview with at least one parent and prepare a written analysis with conclusions and recommendations. Assessment criteria: quality of analysis of the situation; use of theoretical justification; reasoning of conclusions; relevance of recommendations to the individual needs of the child; presentation of the work. |

4.
Development of a physical activity event for preschoolers and their families |

Job description: Students in the group shall develop a physical activity measure for preschoolers and their families, integrating alternative pedagogy approach, translational skills and principles for health promotion. The measure shall justify the conformity of the selected activities with the age, development needs and safety requirements of the children. Fulfilment conditions: group work (3-4 students). Prepare a written plan of the event and demonstrate virtually one activity of the event (10-15 minutes). Evaluation criteria: The quality of the planning of the measure; relevance of activities to children’s age; integration of the alternative pedagogy approach; theoretical justification; cooperation within the group; quality of practical demonstration. |

|
Job description: The student develops physical activity intended for pre-school children, theoretically justifies its compliance with the child’s age, development characteristics and pre-school education guidelines, as well as practically implements the developed activity in the study group. The purpose of the examination is to evaluate the student’s ability to integrate theoretical knowledge and practical skills by planning, organising and managing physical activities in the pre-school education process. Conditions of execution: individual examination. The student shall prepare a written description of physical activity, which shall include the purpose of the activity, the results to be achieved, the age group, the necessary means, the course of the activity, the safety requirements and the theoretical justification. In the practical part, the student shall manage the developed physical activity within 3-5 minutes in the study group and, after the demonstration, briefly justify the selected methodological solutions. Evaluation criteria: the quality of the theoretical justification and compliance with the pre-school education guidelines; compliance of physical activity with children’s age and developmental characteristics; the methodological quality and creativity of the activity; compliance with safety requirements; professional activity management and reasoning of the methodological solutions chosen. |
