About Study Course

Objective

To provide students with opportunities to acquire and improve theoretical and practical knowledge in field of traumatology and orthopaedics, to be able to give highly advanced help to patients with different severity trauma and musculoskeletal diseases.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.The resident will demonstrate the knowledge by: a) Describing systemic and local condition in patients with lower extremity trauma and diseases; b) Describing chosen treatment method; c) Evaluating the process of pathology and treatment results; d) Explaining potential side effects and consequences; e) Evaluating patient's ability to work.

Skills

1.The resident will be able to: a) make a detailed examination of a patient with lower extremity trauma and diseases; b) make proper additional examination plan, evaluate results; c) do conservative treatment for certain trauma; d) do puncture of large joints; e) do emergency knee arthroscopy; f) make a proper treatment and rehabilitation plan.

Competences

1.By using the acquired knowledge, the resident is able to: a) recognize and differentiate musculoskeletal trauma and diseases, give proper first aid and treatment; b) analyze treatment results of a certain trauma; c) explain rehabilitation plan needed for certain trauma case.
