About Study Course

Objective

To acquire knowledge about diagnostics and differential diagnostics of dental diseases, periodontal diseases, diseases of dental implants, and the oral mucosa, as well as knowledge about their non-surgical and surgical treatment methods. To acquire knowledge about the indications and contraindications of non-surgical and surgical treatment of previously mentioned diseases and conditions and their significance within the framework of planned and acute treatment. To give theoretical and practical skills in integrating the information acquired in different study courses into the practical work environment.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knowledge of diagnostics of dental, dental implant, periodontal and oral mucosal diseases, differential diagnosis. Knowledge of indications, contraindications, and methods for conservative treatment of dental, dental implant, periodontal and oral mucosal diseases. Knowledge of indications, contraindications, and methods for surgical treatment of dental, dental implant, periodontal and oral mucosal diseases. Knowledge of modern conservative and surgical treatment methods of dental, periodontal, and peri-implant diseases as well as diseases of the oral mucosa.

Skills

1.To be able to evaluate the indications, scope, and results of conservative and surgical treatment of dental, dental implant, periodontal and oral mucosal diseases. Develop an interdisciplinary approach to clinical work and involve colleagues from other specialties in solving problem situations.

Competences

1.Use the acquired knowledge in clinical practice. Able to make an accurate diagnosis and draw up a treatment plan. Interpret and analyze treatment results. Able to coordinate treatment and, if necessary, attract another specialist.
