About Study Course

Objective

To provide an opportunity to deepen theoretical knowledge and practical skills in normal and pathological obstetrics, to learn differential diagnosis and tactics in cases of pregnancy complications, to learn primary resuscitation of newborns, so that the emergency medicine doctor can accept delivery and take care of the newborn outside the maternity ward.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students will be able to: • Describe the delivery process • Evaluate the pregnancy and postparum complications • Describe the newborn evaluation principles.

Skills

1.Students will be able to: • Diagnose the pregnancy • Diagnose the emergency states during pregnancy, • To manage the labor, • To evaluate and resuscitate the newborn, • To diagnose and manage the postpartum complications in the hospital emergency department as well as prehospitally.

Competences

1.Accept childbirth and take care of mother and child until delivery to a specialized hospital.
