About Study Course

Objective

To acquire and develop theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to lung and respiratory diseases.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.During the time allotted for the study course, the medical resident acquires knowledge about respiratory diseases, aetiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnostic algorithms and principles of treatment thereof.

Skills

1.As a result of the study course, the resident will be able to evaluate the patient’s clinical condition, take a full life and disease anamnesis, objectively examine the patient, prescribe additional examination methods when needed, prescribe appropriate treatment, as well as provide emergency medical assistance in acute situations.

Competences

1.Using the acquired knowledge and skills, the medical resident will be able to formulate a diagnosis, perform differential diagnosis, interpret the examination data, develop a structural treatment and rehabilitation plan, logically formulate and explain the goals of treatment, evaluate its effectiveness and side effects.

During the study course, the medical resident must acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about diseases of the respiratory system, diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation thereof, according to the tertiary level of health care, as well as, within the scope of their specialty, must be able to provide consultations to patients, their relatives and other medical practitioners.
