About Study Course

Objective

During the study course the resident shall acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of the concepts of epidemiology, statistical methods, signs of infectious disease epidemic and their control possibilities.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.As a result of the study course, the resident will gain knowledge about the subject of epidemiology of infectious diseases, methods, tasks and objectives, ecological and epidemiological classification of infectious diseases, structure of epidemic process, description of characteristics of epidemic process: incidence rate, focus, permanent periodic and seasonal fluctuations of epidemic process within a year and territorial distribution regularities, the procedure for registration of data about infectious diseases, epidemiological examination principles of a disease case and principles of infection control in medical institutions.

Skills

1.As a result of the study course, the resident will be able to recognize the development of epidemics of infectious diseases, will be able to organize public information work and carry out infection control measures.

1.Find information on the extent of the epidemic; evaluate the level of danger under specific local circumstances.
