About Study Course

Objective

To develop students' understanding of quality management, its assessment methods, the need for quality assurance and improvement systems, the principles of total quality management (TQM).

Preliminary Knowledge

Basic knowledge of business, human resource management, mathematics, statistics, microeconomics.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Upon successful completion of this course, students will understand the basic principles of quality management, know the methods of quality management, their application in the modern business environment in various business operations, structural units and organisations.

Skills

1.Students will be able to independently identify and evaluate quality management problem situations, risks, to choose appropriate quality management methods, to perform quality analysis, to calculate quality costs in business processes, to evaluate the obtained results and to interpret the reliability of the data; they will be able to present the obtained results in writing and orally to the professionals of the sector and to the public.

Competences

1.Students will be able to scientifically substantiate the need for organisational quality management in today's labour market within their competence, will be able to develop economically justified quality improvement solutions, will be able to logically formulate necessary organisational quality improvements.

Students' independent work is organized individually (preparing for lessons and preparing homework) and small work groups (seminar classes, group work) Independent tasks: 1. To study literature related to the study course topics (in addition to reading the latest publications and articles related to the course topics); 2. Prepare for seminar classes; 3. Develop a report (mini-project) on the topic and prepare it for presentation.
