Knowledge
1.Doctoral students are able to demonstrate that they know and understand the most topical theories and conclusions of criminal law, criminal procedure law and criminology; that they have comprehensive knowledge of research methodology and modern research methods in law and the respective professional sector, as well as in contact between different fields.
Skills
1.Doctoral students are able to independently evaluate and select appropriate scientific research methods for the sub-sector of criminal law, have contributed to the expansion of the limits of knowledge or have reached a new understanding of the existing knowledge and its application in practice by carrying out substantial original research, part of which is at the level of internationally peer-reviewed publications. Doctoral students are able to independently improve their scientific qualification, are prepared for the work as teaching staff at higher education institutions in the field of criminal law and for research in this sub-sector, as well as to acquire in-depth knowledge of interpretation of material and procedural norms and their practical application.
Competences
1.Through independent, critical analysis, synthesis and evaluation doctoral students are able to draw up and defend scientific papers, including doctoral theses; to solve major research or innovation tasks, to independently propose a research idea, to plan, structure and lead large-scale scientific projects, including international ones.

|
As part of the course, doctoral students have to write 2 reports in the field related to their doctoral theses. The results of the report should be presented to the public during a class or a scientific conference, thereby approbating the results of their doctor theses.
The latest theories and conclusions of practice should be mastered independently.

|
During the course, doctoral students shall attend lectures and classes, as well as do independent work, the results of which are evaluated in the form of a report and publications. Upon successful fulfilment of the study requirements, doctoral students may take the final examination. In the final examination, the doctoral student shall answer at least three theoretical questions.
