About Study Course

Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in forensic pathology, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the specialty of forensic medicine experts, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of forensic medicine expert, in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Systematize and describe forensic medical examinations and patho-anatomical autopsies.

Skills

1.Carry out forensic medical examination and patho-anatomical autopsy, take the necessary samples for laboratory examinations, interpret laboratory results and integrate them with autopsy data.

Competences

1.To carry out forensic medical examinations of corpses, to carry out the activities intended for a forensic medical expert in criminal proceedings, civil proceedings or administrative proceedings, acquired prior knowledge and skills for performing scientific-research and pedagogical work.
