About Study Course

Objective

To train rheumatology residents to understand the radiological manifestations of musculoskeletal and connective tissue diseases, their role and significance in diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and clinical course, as well as in treatment planning and monitoring of disease activity and therapeutic effectiveness. To provide knowledge of modern medical imaging technologies and their principles and applications in rheumatology.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.The resident demonstrates advanced and comprehensive knowledge of the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal and autoimmune connective tissue diseases, providing a foundation for creative clinical reasoning, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The resident: understands modern medical imaging technologies and methods used in rheumatology, their basic principles, and clinical applications; recognizes the significance of radiologic features in the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and clinical course of rheumatic diseases; knows how to apply radiologic techniques for diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and disease monitoring; understands indications and contraindications for imaging procedures in rheumatologic patients.

Skills

1.The resident: understands the clinical problem and can select appropriate diagnostic algorithms; applies diagnostic and therapeutic measures using radiologic findings; can discuss radiologic aspects of rheumatology with both specialists and non-specialists; accurately maintains medical documentation; independently develops professional competence and assumes responsibility for results; purposefully prescribes and evaluates radiologic investigations in rheumatic patients.

Competences

1.The resident: practices at a high professional level in the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of musculoskeletal and autoimmune connective tissue diseases; independently evaluates and interprets radiologic examination results; applies specific radiologic signs and syndromes as criteria for verification of rheumatic disease diagnoses; integrates imaging data into diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making, assessing disease progression and treatment efficacy; collaborates in a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient management.

Assessment

Individual work

-
-
The resident independently gets acquainted with the latest literature data, research results, and constantly prepares presentations for theoretical seminars. Independently learns to perform clinical practical examinations and manipulations.
