About Study Course

Objective

Acquire deeper knowledge of relevant topics, learn how to evaluate patients with lung pathology, evaluate the characteristics of the pathology involved and the treatment options for individual patients at different stages of treatment.

Preliminary Knowledge

Anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the respiratory system. Methods of physical examination of the respiratory system. Methods of radiological examination in the diagnosis of lung diseases. Pharmacology of the respiratory system.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Upon completion of the study course, students will have acquired knowledge of pulmonary diseases, so that they are able to assess these diseases, differentiate them from other diseases and provide adequate treatment on the basis of the latest findings in medicine.

Skills

1.Upon completion of the study course, students will be able to (based on the medical history, objective findings, laboratory tests and additional examination results) understand and diagnose the aforementioned pulmonary diseases, assess their severity and variety, and prescribe appropriate treatment for a particular patient.

Competences

1.The expertise acquired through studies will enable students analyse current medical problems in respiratory diseases independently, rationally use additional examination methods, analyse clinical cases, demonstrate individual attitude towards the patient and justify the chosen treatment.
