About Study Course

Objective

To understand the role of dental roentgenology in the clinical practice of paediatric dentistry. To understand the basic principles of radiation safety in paediatric dentistry.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.To explain radiation safety in medicine. To assess normal X-ray anatomy in different age groups in the dento-maxillary region. To know how to diagnose pathologies from roentgenograms. To evaluate I CAT Morita 3D radiological diagnostic images.

Skills

1.To prepare the necessary X-ray image (dental) appropriate to the situation (after clinical examination). To evaluate what is seen in the roentgenogram. To know how to work with I CAT 3D X-ray images.

Competences

1.To understand radiation safety in dental practices according to specific rules in radiology for the examination of children’s teeth. To evaluate the specifics of radiological examination of children’s teeth and the possibilities of reducing radiation doses. To be competent in the evaluation of roentgenograms of teeth and jaws – anatomical features in different age groups, x-ray diagnosis of congenital and acquired anomalies, x-ray diagnosis of pathological processes in the teeth and surrounding tissues.
