About Study Course
Objective
1. Strengthen and develop the knowledge, competences and skills acquired previously in the study programme in working with patients of different age groups in the prevention of functional impairment. 2. Ensure practical development of skills and skills conforming to the standard of the profession of physiotherapist, prepare students for creative, research and medical work 3. Develop competitive professional specialists in the speciality of physiotherapist who are actively involved in the healthcare system. tasks: 1. Get acquainted with the organisation of the work of a physiotherapist in various health care institutions and organisations related to physiotherapy in sport. 2. Apply the acquired theoretical knowledge required in the speciality of physiotherapist in practical activity based on the amount of theoretical basis acquired. 3. Independently perform physiotherapeutic treatment, perform physiotherapeutic procedures in accordance with the drawn up physiotherapeutic treatment plan, applying physiotherapy technologies and treatment methods approved by the National Health Service, draw up documentation of physiotherapeutic treatment and practice in accordance with the requirements of the Medical treatment Law, compiling, systematising and analysing the processed database for the performance of the scientific work of the accumulated materials. 4. Acquire the skills to work in a multiprofessional rehabilitation team.
Preliminary Knowledge
Prior to commencing the placement, the student shall acquire and pass all study courses in accordance with the schedule of the study plan of the professional Bachelor’s higher education programme “Physiotherapy”.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Able to independently perform a physical functional condition assessment in patients using a variety of tests based on patient complaints and functional condition. Capable of applying investigative methods that are applied purposefully, in accordance with the conditions of the particular patient and current clinical situation. Can creatively apply innovative solutions to the rehabilitation of patients in physiotherapy. Can use patient education to reduce complaints and improve overall quality of life indicators for patients of different profiles. Is able to apply practical training on basic principles of ergonomics, including individually appropriate exercise training, relaxation posture training, etc. Be able to apply training to those involved in patient care in the correct and safe methods of transferring the patient in order not only to ensure a safe care process, but also to maximise stimulation or maintenance of patient independence. Knowledge - evidence-based healthcare (principles, basic elements, barriers and contributing factors, benefits) bringing scientific evidence into clinical practice (models, principles), assessing the reliability and quality of information sources, analysing the levels and quality of evidence in physiotherapeutic evaluation and analysis of measurements used.
Skills
1.Is able to perform an assessment of the general state of health and social situation of the patient, including both analysis of the data of the medical history, analysis of the results and conclusions of examinations of other medical practitioners involved in the treatment and rehabilitation process, and assessment and analysis of the current situation. Is able to draw up and formulate a physiotherapist’s opinion on the data obtained from the investigation and its analysis. Based on the conclusion, and taking into account the patient’s preferences and other influencing factors (e.g. socio-economic), he is able to set a physiotherapy target and plan the rehabilitation process on the basis of them. Can integrate physiotherapy goals into a patient’s overall treatment and rehabilitation plan. The parents are able to train the methods of movement to be used in the care of the child, which stimulate the development of the child and, if necessary, inhibit abnormal patterns of movement. Able to identify and apply appropriate and effective therapeutic exercises individually to each patient based on knowledge of the physiological basis, effects and specific methodologies of exercises, taking into account their complaints and objective findings, clinical diagnosis, age and gender, and other individual factors. Be able to apply specific methods or the inclusion of its elements in a common physiotherapy programme. Skills - critical analysis of psychometric evaluation instruments qualities. Critically analyse the relevance of evaluation instruments to a particular clinical situation. Integrate scientific evidence into clinical judgement and decision-making. Use appropriate guidelines for clinical decision making. Inform and explain the application of scientific evidence to the patient in the physiotherapy process.
Competences
1.Ability to evaluate a patient’s ability to perform a variety of daily physical activities using both objective assessments (observing the patient during activity) and subjective patient assessments (ascertaining the patient’s assessment of ability and limitation during the interview or using a variety of clinically cured self-assessment questionnaires), evaluating the ability to perform activity evaluates both its quantity and quality (including necessary assistance and/or aids). Capable of applying individual dosing of different types of physical load with dynamic control of objective and subjective cardiorespiratory parameters. Able to perform educational activities and practical training of patients and persons involved in the patient care process, interpersonal relations for the implementation of multiprofessional cooperation. Competences - ability to implement evidence-based practice model in the process of planning and implementing physiotherapy, using appropriate and reliable sources of information, critically analysing available scientific evidence and integrating it into clinical work. Ability to use reliable and valid measurement of results by critically assessing their characteristics and compliance with the specific context of the practice in order to analyse and, where necessary, adapt their professional activities. Ability to transfer, critically, creatively and scientifically justified, the latest knowledge and skills in the professional activities of a physiotherapist.

In one day, a student must have 8 academic hours at the placement, 4 academic hours of which are work with patients and 4 academic hours are their own individually methodical work. In each of the thematic cycles of THE placement, the student at the relevant placement place shall defend three clinical practice protocols for which the placement base methodologist instructs the student to enter the total assessment (points) into the placement during the thematic cycle. After the mandatory five thematic cycles: physiotherapy in neurology, physiotherapy in oral diseases, physiotherapy in traumatology and orthopaedics, physiotherapy in paediatrics and physiotherapy in sport, a student should have points in all thematic cycles. After the placement, the student shall submit a placement report bound to THE LSPA placement supervisor and the placement methodologist of the institution of higher education with the physiotherapist responsible for the placement bases - the assessment form signed by the methodologists. |

The student shall receive a differentiated assessment. The final rating in the 10-point system according to THE REQUIREMENTS of THE LSPA shall be obtained at the end of all cycles of practice. For a positive assessment of the practice, the overall assessment must be at least 4 points (minimum level). If the student’s points amount is less than 4 points, the placement is not counted. |
