About Study Course

Objective

To create an in-depth understanding of the problems of modern socio-economic processes in the world, strengthening the promotion of scientific excellence and research at RSU and Latvia in business management and economics.

Preliminary Knowledge

Modern trends in microeconomics and macroeconomics; Master's level experience and acheivements in social sciences research.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Doctoral students at the doctoral level should know, understand, constructively, critically evaluate and apply the latest scientific theories and findings, manage research methodology and modern research methods in business management and economics.

Skills

1.Doctoral students are able to critically assess, differentiate, classified, synthesy, compare, are able to solve innovative research tasks in the field of business management and economics, independently identify, formulate and explain a scientifically unique research idea, plan, develop and implement national and transnational scientific projects.

Competences

1.Doctoral students independently develop a new, creative understanding of existing knowledge, create and justify new approaches, develop an original research - doctoral thesis, contributing to the expansion of knowledge in an interdisciplinary perspective, as well as take care of the application of this knowledge in business management and economics.

Round table discussion, where doctoral students present the results of their scientific and practical work on a topic of the study course. To carry out a description and critical evaluation of the main scientific findings; to prepare an overview of the analysis performed; to show the results of the analysis in a presentation (Power Point format)

Active participation in lectures, practical classes analysis, participation in argumentative and thematic discussions - 50%; development of scientific-practical studies - 50%.
