About Study Course

Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills 'Aneurysms. In surgical, endovascular' treatment, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the specialty of vascular surgery, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of vascular surgeon, in accordance with the regulatory documents of the Republic of Latvia.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.-Indications, contraindications for operative, endovascular treatment of aneurysms, depending on the location, the patient's condition and the situation in the country, -Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, -Anatomical relationship of VAA with lumbar, renal, mesenteric arteries, -Survival chances, planned prognosis for thoracic aneurysm.

Skills

1.You will acquire the necessary skills and their practical application for: -Procedure protocol for operative VAA resection in acute and chronic patients, - Monitoring of the patient in the long-term postoperative period.

Competences

1.The student will be able to: -Based on treatment principles for thoracic, abdominal, visceral aneurysms, hybrid intervention, -Interpret cardiography data from MRA, CTA and EHO.
