About Study Course

Objective

To provide and enhance the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in urology, per the pediatric surgical specialty’s requirements to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of pediatric surgery.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.- emergency urogenital surgical disease conservative and surgical treatment indications for adults of various ages (with/without concomitant illnesses); - examination and treatment plan drafting for patients with acute urogenital surgical diseases; - patient preparation peculiarities for operations, emphasizing attention to emergency and urgent urological operations, as well as basic principles of treatment in the pre- and post-operative periods; - to orientate with the diagnostic methods and instruments used in emergency urology, as well as the surgical treatment options and principles. To learn: • Detailed theoretical knowledge about emergency conditions in cases of acute and chronic urological illnesses for adults; • Conservative and surgical treatment indications and their application in emergency urological conditions for adults with concomitant illnesses; • Urological diagnostic methods, instruments and apparatuses, and practical skills for diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations, as well as surgical therapeutic methods and their practical usage for surgically profiled patients; • To draft an examination and treatment plan for patients with acute urogenital system surgical illnesses; • To provide qualified emergency assistance to patients with acute urogenital system surgical diseases.

Skills

1.- to provide qualified emergency assistance for patients of various ages with acute urogenital surgical illnesses and chronic surgical illness exacerbations; - to be able to institute adequate analgesic therapy post-surgical treatment of the urogenital system; - to perform digital rectal examinations in cases of prostate cancer - to perform urinary bladder catheterization.

Competences

1.- to provide qualified initial and emergency assistance for patients of various ages (with/without concomitant illnesses) with urogenital system surgical pathology.
