About Study Course

Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge, regulatory knowledge and practical skills, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the specialty of vascular surgery, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of vascular surgeon, in accordance with the documents of the Republic of Latvia.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knows and will be able to apply: -based on the frequency of complications – embolization, at stent implantation, recanalization of arteries or veins, strictly following the indications, is a prospective treatment method, - activate practical activity in mini-invasive endoscopic surgery, - methods of treatment of deep vein thrombosis.

Skills

1.Will be able to: - independently perform sclerotherapy and embolization in cases of congenital vascular anomalies, -interpret angiography data before and after manipulation, -actively monitor patients during and after manipulation, action protocol in case of complications.

Competences

1.Will be able to: - to popularize modern endovascular manipulations, especially in cases of trauma, carotid artery, visceral and limb artery occlusive diseases, - make a comparison of operative and endovascular treatment methods, form a personal opinion, - promote aspiration thrombectomy in cases of deep vein thrombosis.
