Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Knowledge of the prevalence, aetiology, pathogenesis, of psychiatric and behavioural disorders, peculiarities of clinical symptoms and syndromes in the elderly, course and diagnostics (in accordance with ICD - 10), methods of clinical and psychological examination, therapy, peculiarities of psychological and social care, as well as arresting of acute conditions (organic delirium, dysphoria, hallucinosis), medication and psychological principles of therapy, organisation of care, ethical and legal aspects.
Skills
1.Skills of using clinical examination, diagnostic and therapy methods used in geriatric psychiatry: subjective and objective anamnesis, examination of the somatic and psychological status of the patient, detection of potential organic neurological pathology. Skills of planning and implementation of psychological, social, work occupational therapy, peculiarities of psychopharmacotheapy in geriatric patients and somatically ill patients, skills in interpretation and evaluation of psychological testing, internal, neurological, and radiological test results.
Competences
1.Competencies in communication, cooperation and care for elderly patients, including the offers of social care system. Competencies in management, planning, observing ethical and legal principles and the use of further education and science findings with the purpose of ensuring the prevention of psychiatric disorders and demyelinating processes in the elderly, as well as early diagnostics thereof. Competencies of therapy, psychological and functional rehabilitation.

- to evaluate psychological and psycho-pathological peculiarities, as well as the manifestations of psychiatric disorders and diseases in the elderly,
- treatment of geriatric patients,
- choice of medicinal products and therapy methods.
