About Study Course

Objective

To provide postgraduate theoretical and practical acquirement and improvement of skills to qualify doctors to be practitioners in general surgery according to requirements of regulation, corresponding to the normative documentation of the Latvian Republic.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Know urological disease etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis, indications for conservative and surgery; know urology used in diagnostic methods and tools.

Skills

1.To provide urgent assistance to the patient with acute urologic pathology; create and implement a proper scheme diagnostic and treatment tactics of patients with urologic pathology; perform diagnostic and therapeutic manipulation;

Competences

1.Provide urological assistance in acute situations acording to the Latvian Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Health and the Association of Latvian urologist requirements. Certified specialist competence is urological pathology diagnostics, conservative and operative treatment.

To provide detailed theoretical knowledge of the innate and acquired, acute and chronic urological disease etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, as well as urological disease conservative treatment and urological indications. Diagnostic methods, instrumentation and hardware, practical skills for diagnostic and therapeutic manipulation, as well as treatment methods (operations) practical use of Urological profile for patients on the scope of the program. Seminar themes: Priekšdziederis, anatomy, anatomy perifasciālā Growth factors, BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) BPH prevalence diagnostics BPH drug therapy. BPH surgical treatment, open surgery TUR (transurethral) BPH resection Minimally invasive treatments for BPH BPH complications of treatment Urology used tumor marker Prostate CA development theories epidemioliģija Screening for Prostate CA Prostate-specific antigen, its interpretation to various prostate diseases Prostate biopsy TRUS Prostate CA Surgical treatment (radical prostatectomy) Treatment options disseminated prostate CA case. Prostate CA skeletal metastases diagnostics, therapy Prostate Ca minimally invasive treatment options Quality of life issues after radical prostatectomy Laparoscopy and robotic assist in surgery for prostate cancer Testis tumors, their diagnosis Testis tumors and retroperitoneal metastsažu operative therapy.
