About Study Course

Objective

To ensure acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in care of pregnant women with endocrine disorders. To learn pregnancy management in a patient with diabetes mellitus.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.A student will obtain basic knowledge of peculiarities of care in pregnant women with diabetes mellitus, gestational diabetes and disorders of the thyroid gland function.

Skills

1.A student will be able to draw up a long-term examination and treatment plan. Will be able to manage the insulin therapy during pregnancy in patients with diabetes mellitus and gestational diabetes. Will be able to ensure long-term observation of the patients who have had gestational diabetes.

Competences

1.Ability to apply the acquired knowledge in the care of pregnant women in cases of endocrine diseases, especially in the management of pregnancy in a diabetic patient.

Resident to learn to manage pregnancy in a patient with endocrine problems, mainly: metabolic syndrome, type 1 and 2 diabetes, changes in thyroid function. Learn to evaluate endocrine changes in norm and pathology during pregnancy. Participate in the curation of specific patients. Understand the peculiarities of diagnosis and treatment of endocrine diseases in pregnancy. Attend 4 planned seminars. Prepare clinical presentations for seminars, get acquainted with the latest literature and prepare literature reviews. Preparing for the exam test.
