About Study Course

Objective

To ensure acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in rehabilitation according to the requirements of sport medicine physicians’ specialty.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knowledge of mutual interconnection of sports medicine as a multidisciplinary field of medicine and rehabilitation. Theoretical and practical knowledge of rehabilitation of patients, functioning of the movement support apparatus during rest and physical load in case of different movement disorders and individually adjusted physical activity to such patients and physical activity restrictions.

Skills

1.Ability to reasonably select the most suitable examination methods in case of diseases and injuries, assess the results of examination and prepare a rehabilitation plan for patients.

Competences

1.Competence in the rehabilitation of patients with different clinical cases and care.

Theoretical knowledge shall be acquired in 8 seminars and in individual literature studies. During practical classes students monitor patients under the supervision of a physician eligible to provide such training, participate in examination, treatment and rehabilitation of a patient by mastering different rehabilitation methods. A resident acquires different methods of functional diagnostics applied in rehabilitation, methodology of the manipulations to be performed and medical technologies also used in a sports medicine practitioner’s practice.

At the end of the study course the head of the residency programme evaluates the acquired theoretical knowledge in written and oral form. The written test shall be assessed according to the 10-point grading system.
