About Study Course

Objective

Provide knowledge on different theories on potential transformations of mental symptoms and human emotions. Students have to master the understanding of shared and distinctive aspects of different theories of psychotherapy; understanding on the mechanisms of changes in functioning of the psyche; analyse the scientific and the non-scientific information among the theories of psychotherapy.

1.To define common and different features of diverse theories of psychotherapy.

1.Analyse theories of psychotherapy, apply latest discoveries and conclusions, scientific approaches.

Competences

1.Example-based knowledge, skills and attitude essential for working at a hospital and for research, raising public awareness via media; understanding of a team-work (work in groups) and its functions, psycho-dynamics, crisis situations and their solution; as well as the ability to manage the work of a multi-disciplinary team and be part of such team, supervise doctors and medical staff.

Theories of psychodynamic psychotherapy, theories of orthodox psychoanalysis, object relations, psychology of the self, theories of affects, theories of cognitive therapy; theories of behavioural therapy; systemic theories; theories of existential-humanistic approach; attachment theory, theories of group therapy; common and different features of theories of psychotherapy; natural sciences versus social sciences paradigm. Therapeutic factors in different psychotherapy approaches.
