About Study Course

Objective

To provide the student with the possibility to master the history of sports in chronological order, to find one’s way and analyse events in the history of sport. To promote the formation and development of students’ cognition processes. To promote an active life approach, in learning and analysis of historical situations and problems.

1.2. To critically assess historical events and personalities in sport in different periods of time (pre-history, history, ancient times, new times).

1. To collect 30 important facts in a table on the development of an athletic discipline from its origins to the present day, arranging facts chronologically, at least 10 facts regarding the most striking events in Latvia. To specify the source of information for each fact. 2. To conduct a survey of LASE graduates, summarise the information obtained in a presentation. 3. To prepare a presentation – a quiz on the development of an athletic discipline (10 questions).
