Objective

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Students will have the knowledge to explain the essence of basic economic issues, - to define the main economic goals and problems, - to assess the role of the state in the economy. Students: - will know the difference between economic, entrepreneurial and commercial activity, - will be able to name the main legislative acts that regulate business, - explain the need for accounting of economic activity, - define the basic principles of accounting.
Skills
1.Students will be able to compare the common and the different in the micro and macro economy, evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of economic systems, analyze the actions of market subjects, compare the economic indicators of Latvia and other countries, explain the role of the state in the economy.
Competences
1.Students will be able to discuss the basic issues, goals and problems of the economy, will be able to distinguish between economic activity, entrepreneurial activity and commercial activity, will be able to name the main legislative acts that regulate business. Students will be able to explain Latvia's tax policy.

|
Class attendance is mandatory. Actively participate in discussions. All practical work must be completed. Part independently at home (which ones will be indicated), part on-site in lessons. One of the topics of the papers should be prepared and presented. Completing the course evaluation questionnaire.

The final grade is formed from:
• 50% class attendance, independent work in classes, at home, presentations;
• 50% exam paper (25 questions-open and test. Passed if 70% correct answers).
