About Study Course

Objective

To provide forensic medicine residents with the necessary basic knowledge in the medical forensics course in order to prepare the resident for certification and independent practice as a forensic medicine expert in the specialty of forensic medical examination of living and dead persons.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Outline and describe research methods in medical forensics and forensic anthropology.

Skills

1.Apply the acquired knowledge in practical laboratory studies, determining the nature of damage, the mechanism of occurrence, studying blood traces and layers, identifying weapons or persons, remove and send tissues and samples for examination from dead persons for further medical forensic investigation. To carry out expert examinations on identification of persons, determination of parameters characterizing the type of injury and contact surface, identification of persons by bone remains, forensic photography under the supervision of the course leader (3-5 units)
