About Study Course

Objective

To acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in conceptual issues and latest scientific knowledge of health economics and pharmacoeconomics.

Preliminary Knowledge

According to specialty (no special prior knowledge is required).

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.As a result of the study course, students will be able to identify key elements of the healthcare system and characterise funding methods.

2.As a result of the study course, students will be able to list and describe the main economic assessment methods in healthcare.

3.As a result of the completion of the study course, students will be able to explain the principles of the payment and reimbursement system for medicinal products.

Skills

1.On study course acquisition students will be able to identify the necessary data and use it to calculate specific economic indicators applied for healthcare.

2.As a result of the completion of the study course, students will develop the skills to work in the team, addressing the organisational and economic tasks of the healthcare system.

Competences

1.As a result of the completion of the study course, students will be able to analyse and interpret the economic indicators obtained.

2.As a result of the completion of the study course, students will be able to assess the development trends of the healthcare system.

3.As a result of the completion of the study course, students will be able to engage in the organisational and economic tasks of healthcare, justifying their opinion and forming a prospective vision.

Evaluation by CHEERS methodology.

10 points

Test type: CHEERS methodology task.

Work on relevant literature, evaluation of pharmacoeconomic research according to CHEERS methodology and interpretation of results. To be submitted after the acquisition of topic 7.
