About Study Course
Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Knowledge of mutual interconnection of sports medicine as a multidisciplinary field of medicine and the specifics of the work of a team physician, as well as knowledge of confidentiality principles in sports medicine and legal aspects. Theoretical and practical knowledge about medical supplies required for the work of a team physician, protective equipment for different kinds of sports, individual load planning possibilities for individual athletes within the framework of team training and physical activity restrictions.
Skills
1.Ability to reasonably assess the protective equipment for different kinds of sports, application of orthoses and taping, select the most suitable examination methods in case of diseases or injuries, assess results of examinations and prepare a treatment plan and individual training plan for individual players.
Competences
1.Competence in solving different clinical cases, their diagnostics, etiopathogenesis, treatment, prevention and care.

|
Theoretical knowledge is acquired in 4 seminars and individual literature studies. During practical classes students control patients under the supervision of a physician eligible to provide such training, participate in examination and treatment of a patient by mastering patient examination, as well as diagnostic and medical manipulations. A medical resident acquires different diagnostic methods applicable in the work of a team physician, methodology of manipulations to be made and medical technologies used in sports medicine physician’s practice.

At the end of the study course the head of the residency programme evaluates the acquired theoretical knowledge in written and oral form. The written test shall be assessed according to the 10-point grading system.
