Cumulative assessment formed during the course by preparing three independent works according to specified requirements, presenting in classes and adding to a created task in the e-learning portal within a specified time period. Evaluation criteria: 1. Grading occurs with a grade in a 10-point system where the lowest successful assessment is 4-point. 2. Three independently prepared and submitted (attached to a task created in the e-learning portal) presentations during the course. 3. In order to receive a successful assessment of the written presentation of the (4-9-point) permanent work at the end of the course, all classes must be attended (if the classes are organised remotely, the camera is switched off during the class and failure to answer the questions asked is considered to be a delay to the lesson), the independent work must be performed within the time period specified during the course and it must contain the following points fully fulfilled: • Choice and description of the problem in tabular form and justification using scientific sources of information presented as references; • PICO formula and PICO question, according to the problem raised; • The comparative interventions selected in THE PICO formula are based on scientific information in the table; Keywords related to PICO wording (Latvian, English); • Description of the process of searching and finding evidence - scientific databases used; • A collection of evidence (Latvian) on four (4) scientific publications containing sufficient information on the author/persons and title (orginal), year, purpose, conclusions of the publication; scientific publications from the scientific databases based on evidence subscribed to RSU shall be regarded as evidence; • The answer to THE PICO question relates to patient, problem, selected interventions and their comparison; • The work and references are drawn up according to the requirements - the format of the table for the description of the problem, the references used are drawn up according to RSU methodological instructions (see literature list), THE PICO formula, question, keywords, description of evidence and answer, a single letter size and font used, the work does not contain grammar and style errors, scientific, medical terms and interventions explained. |

|
The final (exam) assessment consists of: attendance – 5%, 1. PICO’S job - 25%, 2. PICO’s work - 50%, independent work “application of scientific results in practice” - 20% in order to receive an with distinction (10 points) assessment in the exam the student must fulfil qualitatively and quantitatively the requirements for the performance of the work, demonstrate competence in the presentation of the problem, the compilation of evidence and the answer: only the latest information of scientific publications (from the evidence-based scientific databases subscribed to RSU) should be used, appropriate inphromation should be included in the description of the problem and comparable interventions should be accurately described, THE PICO formula, question and keywords should be precisely created, medical terms explained, six recent pieces of evidence should be described, each containing useful information for the answer, THE PICO question answered in a correct and concentrated manner. |
