About Study Course
Objective
Provide the knowledge and skills necessary to assess and explain health-related outcomes and associated factors by applying fundamental concepts and principles of epidemiology and public health.
Preliminary Knowledge
Basics in causal philosophy; Basics in probability theory and mathematical statistics; Basics in biology and human physiology; English language.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.To understand and explain the role of epidemiology and public health in generating evidence-based health information and supporting decision-making.
2.Identify and systematise key epidemiological research designs in the context of evidence-based medicine and healthcare.
Skills
1.Manage and present epidemiological data, and interpret the findings.
2.The design of the study, data collection methods and possible errors/deviations shall be applied to plan and critically evaluate epidemiological studies and health data obtained taking into account the subject matter.
3.Apply knowledge of epidemiology and public health concepts critically.
Competences
1.Apply and justify core principles of epidemiology and public health to evaluate and interpret population-level data and health measures, supporting evidence-based decisions that improve health outcomes and healthcare systems.
