About Study Course
Objective
The aim of the course is to acquire the German language for daily communication at levels A1/A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning, Teaching and Assessment, at the same time developing students' intercultural understanding and awareness, developing effective oral and written communication skills in the context of intercultural and interpersonal communication.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Students will know the vocabulary of the German standard language, recognise and distinguish simple narrative and question sentences; to recognise and determine the correct order of words in a sentence; find the information needed in the text; use the necessary phrases to initiate a conversation, maintain it, transmit information; will be able to recognise the most common German language constructions, recognise and determine whether the statement or text in question refers to present or past activities. Students are aware of aspects of intercultural relations in the use of language.
Skills
1.Students will be able to understand simple texts on known everyday topics, letters, invitations, advertisements and other authentic materials; will be able to use the language structures learned in everyday communication, present and argue their point, including taking into account aspects of intercultural communication.
Competences
1.As a result of the successful study course, students will be able to make practical use of the learned lexicon and language structures in everyday communicative situations while showing awareness of aspects of intercultural communication.

Assignments with specific tasks for learning active lexics and grammatical structures. Individual, pairs and group work – preparation of dialogues, narratives and 2-3 presentations according to course topics. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must complete the study course evaluation questionnaire on the student portal. |

Class attendance - required. Active participation in classes, assignments performed per class. 7-8 verification work during the course, which may include a reading, listening, language usage, writing and speaking skills test, in which at least 55% of the responses must be correct to receive a successful assessment. at the end of the 3rd and 4th semester, a semester test with a cumulative assessment, taking into account the results of the examination work and participation in the course during the semester. Exam at the end of the course, which includes a test of reading, listening, language usage, writing and speaking skills. Final assessment consists of: exam – 20%; average assessment of examinations – 70%; attendance – 10%. If during the course the number of class absences in each of the 3 semesters has not exceeded 30% and the other course requirements have been fulfilled, the student may be exempted from taking the exam. |
