Preliminary Knowledge
General basic knowledge in medical rehabilitation and understanding of the child's normal and pathological development. English language skills (must be able to read and analyze scientific literature).
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of the concept of evidence-based practice in the practice of a rehabilitation specialist in pediatrics, the application of the ICF concept in patient examination and treatment planning.
2.Thorough understanding of the principles and applicability of multidisciplinary cooperation models in paediatric rehabilitation
3.Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the role of early intervention and transition period (Transition) in promoting functional independence.
Skills
1.Be able to analyse the child’s functioning in the ICF framework, identifying the interplay between body functions and structures, activities, participation and environmental factors.
2.Ability to identify and prioritise child and family-specific rehabilitation needs and formulate functionally relevant, measurable rehabilitation goals.
3.Can choose and justify the approaches for the evaluation of the outcome of rehabilitation according to the set goals.

Progressive case analysis in individual/small group. During the examination, students are provided with additional information about the clinical situation in a sequential manner and are required to conduct a functional analysis within the framework of ICF, determine rehabilitation priorities and goals, evaluate rehabilitation outcomes, make and justify evidence-based decisions, and analyze aspects of transition to adult care. The written part is followed by a short individual oral defense of the decision made. The student's ability to integrate the knowledge acquired in the study course into the analysis of a complex clinical situation, identify and prioritize the needs of the child and family, formulate and evaluate rehabilitation goals, use evidence-based decision-making principles, and argue and critically evaluate the rehabilitation decisions made is assessed. The assessment is determined on a 10-point scale according to the number of points obtained. |
