About Study Course
Objective
To provide students with knowledge of an individual’s physical, mental and social health, as well as health in the context of public health, health as a whole, with a focus on healthy lifestyles and health-influencing factors, experiences and resources.
Preliminary Knowledge
Secondary education, basic computer skills, knowledge of English and Latvian.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.As a result of learning the study course, students will know and understand the theoretical concept of the concept of “health”; promote health awareness as a positive concept and its interaction with man, environment, behaviour, care.
Skills
1.Students will be able to find and collect appropriate and appropriate information on health-influencing risk factors and their relationship to diseases, understand the purpose of learning health issues, be able to develop habits to live and work in healthy environments, understand health needs, their impact on physical and mental health, the impact of life habits on the quality and health of personal life.
Competences
1.After completing the study course, students will be able to select, analyse and justify theoretical approaches on health issues, be able to integrate the knowledge and skills acquired during the course into the analysis of individual or public health situations.

During the implementation of the study course, students independently prepare and present two independent works on the topics covered in the course, which are part of the self-experience project "Change of habit", which students independently implement during the course, as well as actively participate in classes. |
