About Study Course

Objective

To ensure the acquisition and development of theoretical and practical knowledge of polycrest Materia Medica, repertories and repertorisation, in accordance with the requirements of the homeopathy specialty regulation.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.During the time allotted for the study course, the medical resident obtains knowledge about the following: • sources of homoeopathic preparations; • Materia Medica base; • the therapeutic potential of raw materials; • polycrest Materia Medica and initial knowledge of comparative Materia Medica; • an understanding of the relationship between homoeopathic preparations and how this knowledge will help you choose the right preparation; • the origin of repertoria, their structure and differences from Materia Medica; • the use of repertoria; • an understanding that serious and scientific practice of homoeopathy is only possible with a knowledge of using Materia Medica and repertoria.

Skills

1.As a result of completing the study course, the medical resident: • demonstrates knowledge and understanding of medicinal substances within the scope of the study course; • demonstrates proficiency in the use of various Materia Medicas and repertoria to identify the correct medicinal product; • remembers the main features of polycrests; • is able to differentiate between similar preparations; • is able to search for additional readings and select relevant information, including on polycrests and rare preparations; • understands that the current content of Materia Medica and repertoria is constantly evolving; • develops a workable method for further study of Materia Medica; • understands how sections of repertoria are supplemented.

Competences

1.After successful completion of the study course, the medical resident achieves the competences necessary for a homoeopath: • is able to apply knowledge of Materia Medica polycrests and initial knowledge of comparative Materia Medica to deal with acute clinical cases; • has a good knowledge of the Materia Medica literature; • is able to develop a deep understanding of the active nature and therapeutic properties of the preparation; • understands the structure and language of repertoria; • is able to use repertorisation techniques sufficient to select a preparation for the acute stage of the disease; • is able to check medicinal product preferences with Materia Medica; • is able to analyse and synthesise; • is able to learn (including lifelong learning) and apply knowledge in practice; • is able to apply clinical research skills.

At the end of the cycle, there is a test of theoretical knowledge (multiple choice test questions, open-ended theoretical questions) and a test of practical knowledge: clinical case analysis and accurate determination of medicines. The lecturer assesses theoretical and practical knowledge on a 10-point scale.
