About Study Course

Objective

Develop the competences of dental hygienists in the prevention and control of minimally invasive caries. Promote understanding of fluorine as an essential public health tool, develop professional and intercultural communication skills.

Preliminary Knowledge

Knowledge of English at least B2 level, to have an understanding of the professional activities of a dental hygienist. To have basic knowledge of oral health and carriage aetiology.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knowledge of the dental hygienist role in promoting oral health worldwide. Students recognize the strengths and weaknesses, potential benefits and dangers of using social media in (oral) health promotion and care. Understanding how to create and use social media to promote oral health across cultures.

Skills

1.At the end of the study course, students develop educational visual material about oral health problems and use the most appropriate and safe social media for publicizing information in English.

Competences

1.Able to apply the acquired knowledge in the promotion of oral health to various groups of society, competently and safely using social media.
