About Study Course

Objective

The subject of the study course is focused on learning the methodology of criminal investigation and operational activity. To provide the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills in carrying out and organizing criminal investigation and operational activity measures, in the application of operational activity methodology for full-fledged work in a criminal investigation institution.

Preliminary Knowledge

Passed an exam in the study course "Fundamentals of Criminal Investigation" or "Fundamentals of Operational Activities" and received at least the second category special permit for working with state secrets.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Will acquire knowledge: about the legal and organizational foundations of criminal investigation and operational activities and will be able to apply the knowledge in practice; on the nature of criminal investigation tactics and the criminal investigation process; about the possibilities of applying criminal investigation means, techniques and methods, will be able to apply them in the prevention and detection of criminal offences; about the possibilities of applying the agency's method and working with secret assistants in the prevention and detection of criminal offences; on initial and urgent criminal investigation measures, in the detection of criminal offences; on the types and techniques of special personal protection.

Skills

1.Will acquire skills in conducting and organizing operational measures, will be able to conduct and organize secret cooperation, will be able to provide special protection of persons, document the process of operational activities, according to the necessary classification.

Competences

1.Will be able to organize and implement the process of operational activity in the structural unit of the criminal police, make decisions in the process of operational activity, use information for the achievement of operational goals and the use of results in investigations, will be able to cooperate with secret assistants and obtain information, be familiar with the procedure for special procedural protection, use tactical techniques and methods of operational work in a specific criminal case in the detection of the offence.
