About Study Course

Objective

To understand the difference between the endocrine pathology in children and the endocrine pathology in adults theoretically and practically. To know, be able to diagnose and understand treatment principles of the endocrine pathology commonly met in children. To know and understand diagnosis, treatment and prevention of metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus in children.

1.To understand pathogenesis of the endocrine pathology in children, its potential diagnosis and treatment.

1.Well developed communication skills, ability to apply clinical, laboratory, endoscopic and diagnostic imaging techniques to examine properly children and adolescent.

- to control 5 endocrine patients on a regular basis, - to describe all the new patients entering the Endocrinology Department, - to examine at least 30 patients with diabetes mellitus, 10 patients with thyroid pathology, 5 patients with hypophysis pathology, 5 patients with endocrine gynaecology disorders and 5 patients with suprarenal pathology, - a full analysis of anthropometric measurements and data (weight, stature, growth rate, theoretical stature, growth curves, body mass index (BMI) and its assessment)– in 55 patients, - to make orchidometry – in 20 patients, - radiological bone age assessment according to the RUS system – in 5 patients, - individual prescription of the intensive diabetic ketoacidosis therapy and patient monitoring – 5 patients, - training of diabetes mellitus patients – for 10 patients, - diet calculation for children with diabetes mellitus type 1 and 2 and obesity – for 10 patients, - acquisition of somatropin administration method and practical training of patients – for 3 patients. - to learn the work with devices for insulin administration, glucometers, in children.
