About Study Course

Objective

Ensure that students can acquire profound knowledge of work and especially social work with children. Develop awareness and ability in students to deal with clinical cases, the ability to communicate with customers, and especially in crisis situations.

Preliminary Knowledge

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.1) ability to describe taking of a medical history and objective examination of a child 2) compare the assessment of the crisis and the methods of crisis intervention. 3) explain the work with children and families.

Skills

1.1) deal with a clinical case; 2) demonstrate the ability to communicate with families 3) apply crisis intervention where necessary.

Competences

1.1) analyse cases regarding the most frequent diseases in children, care and treatment of a sick child; 2) understand work with children in different wards of the clinic; 3) analyse the activities of a social worker for work with sick children and their families.

Regular attendance of lectures is a prerequisite for a successful completion of the course. Engage in a topic discussion during the lecture and express your opinion. Demonstrate a clinical case in working with a sick child and parents (if present), acquiring the ability to communicate with the child and his or her family members, record the results and analyse them.
