About Study Course
Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.- theoretical knowledge of the anatomy and pathophysiology of the lungs, pleura, bronchial system, oesophagus and thoracic wall, - theoretical knowledge of the aetiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis of acute thoracic surgical diseases and indications for conservative and surgical treatment, - of diagnostic methods, instruments used in thoracic surgery, - of surgeon’s tactics in acute cases, - of emergency medical assistance when needed, indications for surgical treatment, - of peculiarities of the management of the post-operative period.
Skills
1.- assess the general condition of a patient in a proper way, - examine a patient with a thoracic pathology in a proper way, - able to perform a puncture of the pleural cavity, - able to perform drainage of the pleural cavity.
Competences
1.provide skilled first aid and emergency care to patients with thoracic pathology.

A. Examination of knowledge in theoretical matters. A written test of 50 multiple-choice questions (150 questions are prepared.). Assessment is done according to a 10-point grading system.
B. Assessment of performing different manipulations on a mannikin. Assessment is done according to a 10-point grading system.
