Objective

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Will know about the functions of the public administration in disease surveillance (except infectious diseases), as well as surveillance and control of environmental factors that cause disease; will know about the regulatory enactments, the system thereof, functioning, main national requirements in environmental and public health protection, as well as the procedure for the administration of these issues in Latvia. Will know about the main EU requirements, the process of adapting them and responsibilities in case of violations.
Skills
1.Practical skills in the identification and assessment of environmental health risk factors; water quality and safety assessment, hygienic assessment of habitats, control of high-risk sites and hygienic assessment of buildings during construction phases.
Competences
1.Are able to explain the functions of public administration in disease surveillance (excluding infectious diseases) and the surveillance and control of environmental factors that cause diseases. Can analyse, explain and interpret epidemiological and other data.

|
Together with the placement supervisor, the student compiles a specific placement schedule in order to complete as many of the specified placement tasks as possible.
During the placement, the student makes entries on a regular basis in the placement report on the completed work.
The student prepares the final report on the placement during the placement and submits it to the placement supervisor for review.
