About Study Course

Objective

To develop knowledge of the psychological aspects of individual and group behavior in contemporary organizations, as well as the ability to apply organizational psychology knowledge in such areas as personnel selection, performance management, talent management, employee development.

Knowledge

1.• Defines organizational psychology as a science. • Describes organizational development methods and ways of consulting. • Describes various motivation theories. • Defines concept of power and influence. • Characterizes the psychological manifestations of the relationship between power and subordination in work organizations. • Defines the functions and roles of the manager. • Describes the psychological and socio-psychological characteristics of the individual types and their impact on the work process. • Defines loyalty to the organization. • Describes methods of personnel selection. • Describes the basic principles of talent management. • Distinguishes between different leadership theories. • Distinguishes different management styles and their impact on work processes within the organization. • Distinguishes methods of performance evaluation. • Distinguishes basic processes of talent management, employee development and motivation systems. • Describes the causes of organizational conflict, occupational stress and mobbing.

Skills

1.• Evaluates what type of organizational culture is specific to an organization and how it influences organizational processes and relationships within the organization. • Conducts a competency interview.

Competences

1.• Explains the psychological processes and phenomena that characterize the organization, its constituent social groups and the work team. • Develops a job description. • Analyzes what factors determine job satisfaction.

• Active participation in lectures and seminars (20%). • Competency interview (40%). • Test (40%). • Active participation in lectures and seminars. Requirements: The student actively participates in all seminars, productively engages in discussions on a particular issue, problem and defends his/her opinion, uses appropriate terminology. • Competency interview. Requirements: Student independently conducts a competency interview with the candidate in a simulation situation in order to evaluate previously selected 3 competences. The interview is recorded, transcribed and analyzed. At the end of the analysis, a summary should be made. The interview record is provided along with the analysis of the interview. • Test. Requirements: The student successfully completes the written test.
